The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders offers a pre-professional undergraduate degree in the study of human communication and associated disorders. An appropriate graduate degree is required for licensure by the State of North Carolina and Certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Students will satisfy the University communication proficiency by completing the Speech Prerequisite screening, completing the speaking designator course in the major with a grade of C or higher, and completing the writing designator courses in the major with a grade of C or higher.
